See The Heart of God for Israel & The Jewish People in The Forgotten Chapter
Dear Christian Leaders:
.
It's time for the church to stand with God’s host people through whom we have the Messiah.
Paul even says that “if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings" (Romans 15:27), and the Lord calls on us who love the Lord to “give yourselves no rest and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth” (Isaiah 62:6,7).
The church must stand with Israel and lead.
There is a chapter in Paul’s letter to the Romans that if it had been believed would have changed church history and even world history. Look at these six statements from Romans 11:
1. God has not rejected the Jewish people.
V1. "I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin."
V11. "Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious."
2. Gentile believers were to have lived in such a way as to make the Jewish people jealous for their own Messiah. They were to have shown the Jewish people mercy (yet became their worst persecutor).
V30. "Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, V31. so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you."
3. As more and more Jewish people come to faith, this will release “greater riches” to the whole world, as “life from the dead.”
V12. "But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!"
V15. "For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?"
4. Gentile believers were never to replace Israel but were to be grafted into Israel and share in their blessings. (Gentiles remain gentiles but are one with the Jews in the same way that man and woman become one in marriage but maintain their own sexual identity).
V17. "If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root."
V18. "...do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you."
5. Ultimately all Israel will be saved.
V26. "...and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written..."
6. God’s covenant with Israel is irrevocable!
V29. "...for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable."
If we are to follow God’s will, we must have an unwavering commitment to stand with and support Israel and the Jewish people.
Before Hitler began his campaign against the Jewish people, he first lulled the church to sleep by a church who paid no attention to Paul’s admonition in Romans. We must never let this happen again. We must stand with Israel and the Jewish people.
We must look now to gather the Dietrich Bonhoeffers and Corrie Ten booms of our generation in heart & in faith.
Sincerely,
